The entries below are taken from a variety of sources related to the Ancient Kingdom. Not all information here is directly usable in your adventures, but the notes may add insight to your journey.

1. Cursed Land
The Cursed Land lies deep in a dense, colorless forest and hidden within this land is an Ancient City once known to the Forest Folk as the Holy Land. A warning was discovered buried in the depths of the Ancient City long after the rulers had fallen. "Grave misfortune will befall those who behold the Idol that stares into the darkness." The Idol taken from the Ancient Land leads any kingdom down the path of destruction.
"THE IDOL MUST BE RETURNED!"
Under a dark and cloudy sky the Sword Master led his men to the ancient land. The cursed land swallowed the soldiers and all that remained was dark silence.
2. Darkness
How long are these stairs, do they never end? What!? Who was that, WHAT it is! I don’t seek the darkness yet the darkness finds me. How long will the light allow the darkness… to obscure? The things I’ve seen… am I crazy…evil? The voices… I hear them… in my head, are they real? The skeletons… legions of the dead, lurking in the shadows, what are they seeking?
3. Dying Forest
No one can stop the darkness. The King is missing and his soldiers are now dead. Darkness continues to destroy everything. Our beautiful forest is now corrupt. The green tress and leaves are tainted and the Holy Forest now withers away. Perhaps one day the color of green will flourish once again in the forest. The last priestess of the Forest Fork spoke of this day or was she just reminiscing of the days long gone?
4. Serrak’s Creation
Serrak is one of the Forest Folk. He pursued the creation of life and became a healer. He created many things to overcome the physical weaknesses of the Forest Folk. But for some unknown reason he built a mansion on the outside of the city and lived there in solitude. It is said that he indulged himself feverishly in his research on the creation of life, and as a result he created an artificial life form known as Genea. The Geneans were sent to protect the city. The Geneans gradually went insane, and started attacking their own teammates.
Serrak, overwhelmed by guilt, decided to end his life and turned himself to stone, yet his soul remains.
5. The Earth Folk
The renowned craftsmen who were once sought and recognized among the Forest Folk, especially skilled in the art of forging and imbuing attributes of various elements. With the onset of the war against the Dark Folk, they began crafting weapons for the Forest Folk. A refinery was built in the outer cliffs of the city which greatly contributed to the Forest Folks war effort.
6. The Leguis Saga
There is sea end of the Morraddi Range. The entire world knows of the legend of the Ancient City. Some people said that the Ancient City is a dark and evil city. Others have said the Ancient City houses vast treasures, waiting to be found…
References exist regarding a scroll that has information about a mysterious lighthouse that is no longer functioning. Some translators insist that the references also mention a dark monster that inhabits the lighthouse and slays all those who venture nearby. Other references from the scroll mention the “Leguis soldiers” who fought and died near the lighthouse. The story mentions aquatic monsters that prevented a Leguis-made ship from landing upon the soil of the Ancient City.
7. Greed of a Thief
The call of instant wealth, power and prestige from the Ancient City has lured people from every kingdom to its doors, yet few are those have made it back to tell the tale. Zastari was a master thief who terrified merchants and villagers throughout the kingdoms. His greatest abilities were in the art of lock-picking. It is said that his mastery in this area has yet to be equaled by any thief (even to this day). Not only could he break into any locked door, but he was also skilled at making keys. This earned him the nickname, “Endless Keys.” Zastari ventured into the Ancient City, confident that his skills would enable him to amass vast wealth and further his name amongst the thieves guilds of the kingdoms. No one has seen him since. The disappearance of Zastari adds to the deadly mystique surrounding the Ancient City.
8. Sword Master
Septiego, the Sword Master is the greatest living fighter of his age. His victories were countless and his people believed his uncanny knack for survival in battle placed him on a level with the immortals. No one had even considered the possibility of the Sword Master failing a mission – after all, it was he who fought the enemies of the kingdom for a straight year while defeating the monsters that infested the mines of the Cursed Land. Since the Sword Master did not return on the scheduled date from his last mission, and much time has passed, the people have begun to see their legendary hero as perhaps more mortal than they had earlier believed.
9. The Journey Awaits
Darkness consumes the light and lingers over the land. Only a hero with a clear vision of truth and light will prevail to free the land from an oppression that is both magical and the very heart of evil. The journey awaits you, fellow traveler, to test your resolve and reward your courage.
